Hand Made 6" Square Oak Trivet

$5.00

These sturdy oak trivets are made by sawing 3/4" solid oak lumber into 1/4" thick strips and routing notches into them so that when the strips are placed together and glued they form an interlocking pattern.

After a final sanding I apply a food safe mineral oil finish to protect the oak wood.

Finished used is Howard Cutting Board Oil. The mineral oil used in "Howard Cutting Board Oil" is from virgin mineral oils and has no contact with nuts, gluten or other potentially allergenic materials either in production, storage, or transport. Meets all requirements for USP Light Mineral Oil, National Formulary (NF), FDA 21 CFR 172.878 and 21 CFR 178.3620 (a) for direct and indirect contact with food. Their Cutting Board Oil meets US FDA requirements for food contact surfaces, and is safe for all food preparation surfaces. The penetrating quality of food-grade mineral oil brings out the depth of grain in wood.

In our home we us these trivets for a variety of uses. Cooling racks, hot pads, and under plant vases to name a few. They are attractive enough to be used alone as table or counter accessories.

The trivets are easily cleaned by wiping down with a damp cloth and reapply a food safe oil finish as needed. Do not immerse in water.

Items displayed with the 6" square trivet are not included with the sale.

Why such a hard line policy?

The wood I am using to make each item (this does not apply to Bread slicing guides since they are made of new material) has been laying on the forest floor for many years. It has been subjected to insects, rain, wood decay and green moss. Then baked in the Georgia heat and humidity.

So.......the finished item can and may have cracks, bug holes, wood decay, nicks, marks, green moss and be discolored due to its exposure to nature over the years.

That is why....each wood item I make is so unique and one of a kind. They are different!! That is why you are buying it!!

I cant guarantee natures work. I can only assure you that when I am working on the wood all the skill and ability I have will go into what nature has provided me. My craftsmanship is in every piece I turn.

What happens after the piece is done in the mystery wood shop will be a mystery to all.

PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION OF THE ITEM YOU ARE LOOKING AT CAREFULLY AND STUDY THE PICTURES CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU MAKE YOUR PURCHASE. Remember what you see in the picture is what you get, minus color variation due to monitors and lighting conditions.

No exchanges, returns or refunds will be made with the excepton of Bread Slicing Guides.
