This large holder was hand turned by me out of a very old aromatic cedar tree found laying on the forest floor near my house in Georgia. The walls are thick and it is heavy weighing slightly under 3 1/2 lbs.. When I turn these, I try to leave them with some of the natural occurring defects found in the old wood. This piece has many natural ocurring gouges that suround the outside surface. I also do not sand them to a super smooth surface. I leave some what of a rough finish to give them a natural character. This is a very rustic looking piece of aromatic cedar! In its own way it is beautiful and will serve your needs for years to come.

My holders are hand turned on my 50 plus year old wood lathe from down cedar trees laying on the forest floor for years near my shop.
I can't guarantee natures work. I can only assure you that when I am working on the wood lathe all the skill and ability I have will go into what nature has provided me. My craftsmanship is in every piece I turn.
Finish used: Walnut oil (If the piece becomes dry looking over time, you may refresh the wood surface by adding any finishing oil to the piece. Mineral oil is readly avaliable and works fine.)
