What you have here is a very unusual and beautiful mounting of a 2 1/8" quartz clock! You are buying the clock and "Cedar Root" that is shown in the pictures. It is one of a kind.
This piece of very old Cedar Root is truly a gift from "Mother Nature" that allowed me to make this beautiful quartz clock mounting.
As you can see in the pictures, I have left much of the old root structure untouched to create a contrast between the finished part and the natural part. This old root also has beautiful color and wood grain structure.
The clock is a Hicarer Quartz clock insert that operates on its sealed PC 21 battery with a 2 year lifetime. When the clock fails it is easily replaced and available from various clock websites.
Cracks and wood knots cause problems when working with old wood found on the forest floor. You as a consumer have two choices...……..walk away from the piece or accept the wood as God gave it to us to enjoy for what it is. This old wood is the same as the people we meet every day, not every one of either is perfect. Look the pictures over carefully because what you see is what you will receive with the exception of color variations due to different monitors and such.
I can't guarantee natures work. I can only assure you that when I am working on these projects all the skill and ability I have will go into what nature has provided me.
